Job Finding Clubs – springboards in youth employment

21 professionals working with young people: youth workers, representatives of civil society organisations, civic education teachers from 8 colleges of the Republic of Moldova will participate in an integrated carrier counselling programme for youth (future college graduates of the Republic of Moldova) named „Job Finding Club”. The programme is aimed at facilitating the transition of young people from education to work.

After a rigorous selection, 21 professionals are now developing their competencies necessary for counselling young people on their way to integration on the labour market. The first of the 4 stages of trainings for facilitators took place between September 28-30, 2015, the emphasise being on studying the marketing of, planning and organising training programmes as well as on securing quality during the trainings.

The Programme “Job Finding Club” is based on the use of non-formal education methods. „The learning process is thus maximised, and the constraints specific to schools are minimised. Moreover, non-formal education offers an immediate practical utility to the knowledge acquired and uses methods that stimulate involvement and participation of young people”, said Roxana Chebac, trainer from Iasi, Romania.

„I am convinced that the Job Finding Clubs will be like small springboards in employment of young graduates as well as a new step in professional development of the youth workers involved”, mentioned Alexandr Godoroja, participant, representative of the Resource Centre for Youth ”UniT” form Criuleni, the Republic of Moldova.

„This is a very useful training of trainers. I will combine the knowledge and experience I have as teacher with the non-formal methods in order to offer professional support to youth regarding their employment” said Lilia Bologan, participant, representative of the Financial-Banking College from Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova.

„The youth that will be involved in the Job Finding Club Programme will develop their key competencies for the labour market. The programme will offer many benefits and opportunities to the the youth – personal development and empowerment for employment, and also for the facilitators involved – professional growth and development of their abilities in creating tailored programmes according to the needs of the young people”, mentioned Angela Ciocîrlan, President of Faclia-Association for Children and Youth, talking about the Job Finding Club Programme.

The representatives of the public central authorities also got involved in identifying the most suitable ways for developing youth competencies for youth integration on the labour market. The Vice-minister of Youth and Sports, Andrei Spinu, mentioned that there are more programmes for personal and professional development of young people on the agenda of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova, such as: entrepreneurial education, quality traineeships, intensified exchanges between groups of young professionals, etc. Moreover, „providing economic opportunities for youth is one of the objectives of the National Strategy for Development of the Youth Sector for 2014-2020”, emphasised the Vice-minister of Youth and Sports.

The Programme “Job Finding Club” is part of the project „Socio-economic empowerment of youth”, implemented by Faclia-Association for Children and Youth in partnership with the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, with the financial support from CNV Internationaal Foundation, the Netherlands (out of the funds from CNV Vakmensen) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova (within the Grants Programme for 2015).

10 Job Finding Clubs will be held until the end of 2015 and for next year 22 more Job Finding Club are planned to be held. Per total, by the end of 2016, at least 640 young people from the Republic of Moldova will develop their key competencies for the labour market.
