Career guidance for young people in choosing a suitable profession

Every third adolescent doesn't know his or her vocation and even what profession they would like to embrace. These are the official statistics in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, over 60% state that it would be easier for them to make decisions if there were career guidance services.
In order to offer support to the adolescents, the Public Association for Children and Youth "Faclia", in partnership with the Ministry of Education, organizes the "Career Guidance for Youth" training in the period of February 14 - February 16.
During 3 days, in Chisinau, 16 teachers, school psychologists, civic education teachers, class masters from Ungheni, Calarasi, Falesti and Causeni, selected by the General Departments for Education, Youth and Sports from these districts, will learn how to guide the adolescents and youth in identifying their vocation.
The participants will identify the profile of today's youth and the expectancies of the employers, will use techniques and work methods with the youngsters, as well as making conclusions for improving the situation of the education field for the career making.
Subsequently, the instructors will organize training workshops for pupils from the 9th and 12th grades. Within these trainings, they will help the graduates of gymnasiums and lyceums to identify their vocation, but also to assess their available educational options.
Therefore, over 160 adolescents from Ungheni, Calarasi, Falesti and Causeni will have the possibility to make correct choices for continuing their studies and identify the profession that suits them best.
The "Career Guidance for Youth" training is a part of "Decent Work for young people - Improving the social-economic situation of the young people in Moldova by empowering the youth and the civil society" project, implemented by CNV International Foundation, The Netherlands, the Public Association for Children and Youth "Faclia" and the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, the project being financially supported by the European Union.
